One of the well known and the best branded sportswear in the market are Adidas apparel and shoes. Adidas have long established itself as a well designed and well made footwear, ever since Adolf (Adi) Dassler created the first pair in the early 1920s.
Adidas started with footwear, it is only it recent history that the company branched out with other sports apparel like shirts, socks, shorts and various accessories, just to name a few. When Adolf Dassler designed his first pair of shoes, it instantly became a hit.
It was not long, therefore, that Adolf and his brother Rudi were selling them like hotcakes. The brothers introduced a lot of innovations in the athletic footwear industry. They were the first ones to have introduced the arch support in athletic shoes. They also were the first ones who gave athletes free shoes in return for advertising their products.
When the company entered the U.S. market in 1968, they came in very strong. They were so strong, in fact that American shoe competitors, Wilson and MacGregor had to stop manufacturing their footwear because of Adidas' popularity. The popularity of Adidas became undisputed when during the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, every game official and almost all of the 1,490 international athletes wore Adidas.
With the strong footing Adidas had in the footwear market, it was quite surprising to the see the company in shambles during the 1980s. The lack of a solid leadership and workable policies by the company's upper management caused Adidas' demise in the 80s. The company totally underestimated the growth of the newly formed Nike. They were too complacent. And soon, enough, due to more innovative designs and modern styles that appeal to the new generation, Nike took from Adidas the number one title. Adidas fell from the top and the fall was hard.
What saved the company was the revival of 70s fashions in the early 1990s. Adidas' old designs became retro and antique overnight appealing to the teens and younger generations who were the ones mostly affected by the rebirth of the psychedelic fashion. Celebrities that were caught on video and camera wearing old Adidas shoes increased the demands for the shoe manufacturer's 20-year old designs.
At present, Adidas has slowly crawled its way back up into the ranking of the top footwear manufacturers in the world. Though, it still have not yet reached the pinnacle of success that it once had, the company has regained a comfortable footing in the sportswear market.

Storing Your Winter Sports Apparel
Winter sports can be fun to do especially when you get to do it only once a year… unless of course if you live in Aspen or other places where there are snow all year round. If you live in a place where snow is not as constant, it is good to invest in sports apparel that will last you a lifetime and those that you can keep for a long time.
Below are some tips on how to take care of your winter sports apparel so that you can use them again for the next winter season.
Store it properly
Winter sports apparel can be bulky. In addition to the paddings, which are fairly common in sports apparel, winter sports gears should also be thick and padded to protect the person from the extremely cold temperature. This makes winter sports apparel hard to store. Where can you put such bulky items? If they still have space in their closets, they often put these items folded up there in hibernation.
If the space is not enough, some people just put them in a box and store them in an attic or bodega. One thing that you can do is to buy vacuum bags. With the use of vacuum cleaners, you can suck the air up and lessen their sizes, even the padding. That way, you can stack them up even in a smaller space.
Clean them up.
Before putting them to sleep for the next year, make sure that you have cleaned them. Never put them in storage without first washing them. Dirt and grime, even in little quantities, can ruin the cloth. Stains will also be harder to wash away if it has been there for a year. Besides, insects are more attracted to clothes that are not clean. They might also ruin your sports gears.
Cool and dry
Make sure that the place where you are storing your winter sports apparel is cool and dry. Too much heat can ruin the fabric and affect the padding of the sports gears. Moisture can also seep through and damage the apparel. If they get wet somehow, they will surely smell bad.
Fold them right
Another important thing to remember in storing your winter sports equipment is to fold them correctly. Make sure that the paddings are not crushed. Storing it for a year in this way can completely ruin the shape of the winter apparel.

The Sports Bra as Part of Women's Apparel
Studies show that 75 to 80% of women in the United States do not use the right bra when working out. This is because these people believe that the same thing worn in the office can also be used in a physical activity.
This just means that it is not enough to buy a top and shorts when women decide to workout. This is because adequate support must also be given to the breasts since a lot of females feel very uncomfortable when the person has to jump, run or lift weights. In order to prevent injuries in the breasts, the sports bra was invented.
Sports bras are not that hard to find. There are different brands that can be found in the department store and the only thing the individual should do is find the right one ideal for the body.
Getting the right sports bra also depends on the level of intensity that the person is engaged in. These are classified into three namely low, medium and high impact exercises.
Low impact includes cycling, hiking and yoga. Medium could be brisk walking, jogging or skating while high may be aerobics, running or tae bo.
So what kind of sports bra is ideal for the individual? This really depends on the size of the woman’s breasts. For example, women who are flat or small chested should consider wearing a halter-top. Those whose breasts are large should buy something that has separately molded cups so that it isn’t too tight when the person wears it.
If the customer has never worn one before, it is best to try a few on in order to find that ideal sports bra that is snug and will not give the person a hard time breathing. The individual should even jump or walk around to see how flexible it is.
The sports bra should also be able to absorb sweat. Some manufacturers use dri-fit technology making it easy to dry after an exercise.
There is also another bra that prevents serious injury should something hit the person in the chest. This is called a shock absorber bra. It has different levels of protection ranging from 1 to 4 that works by having a double inner layer sewn into the fabric.
This type of bra also has a breathable mesh that absorbs sweat. This is fastened in the back unlike the conventional sports bra that has to be put on like wearing a shirt.

Semi Formal Dress
You have received an invitation for a party, dinner or an event with recommended dress code explicitly printed as semi-formal dress. You walk towards the closet, trying to narrow down all semi-formal dresses. You aren’t pretty sure about what fits the description of semi-formal dress. Do you have one or should you buy a new semi formal dress? Do you know exactly what semi-formal dress to choose? Could it be a dressy outfit with slacks and long or short jackets or jeans and will your Gap T-shirt suffice? Use this guide to choose suitable semi-formal dresses that makes
Semi formal dress options
Pants or skirts: Long or short sleek velvet dress, pant suits in silk, polyester or cashmere, short dressy afternoon dress, black skirt, tuxedo pants or long dressy skirt.
Top: Sparkly sweater or a dressy blouse, tops of satin, crepe, chiffon, lace or a metallic fabric, dressy nice top, dressy blouse, blouse and vest or jacket.
Placing due importance to etiquette, women are asked to wear semi formal dresses to such events or occasions that are less formal or to places that do not insist on formal attire. For instance, to business meetings, conferences, parties, day weddings, award ceremonies and dinner. Because of its universal use, comfort and ease, semi-formal dress gets the most attention. Semi-formal is colloquially used to refer ‘informal attire’. Unless specifically mentioned, the all time favorite semi formal colors are black and white in a wide range of styles.
Considered to be the trickiest of all dress codes, semi-formal dresses for women can’t be understood as long dresses. It is the length of dress that differentiates a formal and semi-formal dress. Not necessarily reserved for evenings, semi-formal dress for an evening event, say post 6 pm includes a cocktail dress for women. And, during the day, an appropriate short dress, pant suit or dress suit. Specifically for daytime weddings, baptisms and other ceremonies, semi-formal dresses ought to be tea-length or ballet-length dress, with hems falling between the knee and shin.
Selecting semi formal dress
In general, semi-formal dresses can be knee-length, say one inch above the knee to two inches above the ankle or a little lower may be mid-thigh to just below the knee length. Semi-formal pantsuits should be ankle length and dress suits ought to be hem knee length to floor length. Semi-formal dresses do not include heavily sequined attire or the formal ball-gown description. Preferably, pay attention to fabrics to look dressy enough. Choose silk, velvet, rayon, cashmere, high quality polyester brocades, good quality chiffon, velvet, velveteen, sateen or velour. In other words, anything that resembles a silky finish and dressy enough to make your personality shine!
A strict no-no is wool business suits which aren’t dressy enough to be classified as semi-formal. American women have a great deal of flexibility in choosing semi-formal attire. A classic tuxedo jacket with pants or a dressy pantsuit would also fit to the T. With a little imagination, try mixing any type of dressy outfit. Remember to keep away from cotton.

Women’s Hosiery

Women’s hosiery comes in an attractive range of products, colors and styles. From sheer pantyhose to tights and stockings, hosiery is a subject of individual taste and preference. Well fitting hosiery can do wonders – it can camouflage minor blemishes, emphasize your contours and lend an even skin tone. Be it thick knit hosiery or sheer silk or lycra, women’s hosiery needs to be carefully selected. Find out tips on selecting women’s hosiery. Compression hosiery or support hosiery provides relief to those suffering from leg fatigue.Women’s Hosiery
Women’s hosiery is designed to fit snug to a woman’s foot, thighs and abdomen. While sheer hosiery is ideal for those who want to show their legs to best advantage, opaque hosiery completely covers your legs. Pantyhose offers body covering from the toes to the waist. It can hold in the stomach, buttocks and upper thighs. Select your pantyhose with care. Opt for toeless sheer hose to wear with your strap sandals. You can go in for shimmering sheer hose for special occasions. Subtle or bright, demure or adventurous, elegant or casual – your hosiery can add to your style statement. Sheer pantyhose in light colors can make your legs appear smoother and longer.
Hosiery is available in many shades ranging from pillar-box red to lime green, black and white. The popular ones are natural skin tone, browns, grays and dark blues and blacks. Choose the pantyhose color to coordinate with your entire outfit. Nude or skin tone pantyhose are all-time favorites. Dark and opaque tights will lend a monochromatic look and minimize the leg size. Fashionable hose in fishnet, crotchet, stripes, plaids and other motifs are a rage with teenagers while neutral shades are chosen for business wear. The sheerness and durability of women’s hosiery depends on the fabric. Ultra sheer stockings and hosiery is made of fine nylon while lycra has a more silken feel to it.
Sheer hosiery is flattering to your legs and allows the natural skin tone to be seen through. Sheer hose come in different combinations of nylon and spandex. Semi-sheer pantyhose is suited for day wear. Heavier opaque tights are better suited for dance lessons, exercise classes and winter wear. Tights are usually made of cotton or wool. Spandex hosiery is highly elastic and conforms to body contours sans creases. The sheerness of the hosiery is defined as Denier and is represented on a Denier scale – 10 denier is ultra sheer while 45 is opaque. Ladders are the bane of any stocking and hosiery wearer. The more sheer the fabric, the more likely it is to develop a ladder. Car doors, cupboards, long nails, jewelry, pins or even pet cats can cause your favorite hosiery to develop ladders. A drop of clear nail polish can temporarily keep the ladder run in check.
# Choose the hosiery of the right size. Look up size charts to get the right fit. Err on the larger size if you fall in the borderline size range. A well-fitting hosiery will keep you comfortable and last longer.
# Choose a suitable suspender belt for your stockings to prevent wrinkling and creases. Pregnant women can opt for thigh high hose.
# Handmade hosiery is more expensive than machine-made ones. Look for reinforced seams and wider waistbands for comfort.
# Wear pantyhose on dry legs. Don’t pull on it when you are wearing the hose. Ensure that your skin and nails are smooth before handling sheer hosiery.
# Clean your pantyhose gently with mild detergent. Do not hang up hosiery on the line to dry, as it will stretch. Place it on thick towels.
# Dark hosiery helps to create a slender silhouette.
# Roll hosiery into a loose ball when packing it for travel.
Compression hosiery
Compression hosiery is said to relieve those suffering from swelling in the legs. Support hosiery is designed to cling to the legs thereby reducing problems of varicose veins, swollen legs and water retention. It is used extensively for those suffering from chronic venous disease. Compression hosiery controls the size of the veins beneath thereby preventing them expanding with blood. Support hosiery is designed to lend graduated support to the legs. The pressure is greatest at the ankle and it gradually decreases up the leg.
Women who suffer from tired and aching legs or varicose veins can benefit from compression hosiery. It is also recommended for those who spend considerable time in standing or sitting positions. If you suffer from skin infections or Ischemia of the leg, use of compressed hosiery is not advised. Wearing compression hosiery from the start of the day prevents swelling that normally occurs during the course of the day. It is best to consult a physician before using compression hosiery to determine the number of hours it can be worn. Do not use bleach or strong detergents on your support hosiery. Hand wash or machine-wash them in a mesh bag.

Design Your Own Perfume
Research shows that you can quite easily make a hundred bottles of perfume for under $300. Then you sell each bottle for up to $50 each, and you have $15000. Minus your costs and you have made an easy $14700, and that’s just the beginning.
Perfume costs next to nothing to make and sells with unbelievable markups. Is it any surprise that so many celebrities have cottoned on to the idea and are trying to retire on a fragrance?
Some of the most profitable perfumes on the market are ones which were the cheapest to produce, and when you start small it doesn’t work out any dearer for you to make than if you were investing thousands.
In the past it was difficult to source your ingredients, packaging or bottles and spray nozzles. Even designing and producing the label seemed like a year long job. It has all changed with the internet boom, and online ordering means you can scope out the cheapest but still quality ingredients etc. You can order and pay by credit card, and as quickly as it arrives you will be on your way to success. Not only is this great for the novice scent inventor, but will hopefully have the effect of bringing the cost of perfume down in the near future.
There are some things you will need to remember when you begin your project of perfume making. First come up with a catchy name for it, but make sure it is also sensible. Design a label with some simple artwork and research the requirements for ingredients and listing them as well. Next you need to scope out the best priced bottles, lids and/or pumps. Don’t buy cheap and nasty ones, but don’t spend a fortune either. You want it to look professional without costing more than the contents.
Spend a couple of days choosing your fragrances, and research what other ingredients you should use. Make sure you are in a sterile environment when preparing, then pour it into your bottles. Work out how you want to present the finished product, whether you can afford boxes or maybe you can come up with another creative way to make it look appealing and professional.
It really is really a simple process, not rocket science. If it is something you have always wanted to do, don’t waste another moment. Seize the day and the opportunities we have and put your nose and your personal taste to the test.
